About Us

Who We Are

Established in 1994, and always in the process of “becoming,” the Messianic Studies Institute (affectionately known as “MSI”) is a unique institute for adult lifelong learning that manifests the Jewish orientation of Messianic faith and practice.

MSI empowers students to be transformed by the Jewish essence of Messianic faith through a dynamic curriculum that emphasizes the Scriptures, the related Jewish literatures, the Biblical languages, and Jewish values, culture, and tradition, all within the context of faith in Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah.

The transformation we’re talking about is intended to result in
  1. an integrated faith (not a once-a-week religion, but a living according to the pattern of Yeshua in every dimension of everyday life)
  2. an indebtedness to and relationship with the Jewish people now; an eagerness and ability to positively impact the “Jewish-Christian” divide; and a shared hope regarding the future
  3. a hunger and passion for the Scriptures that focuses on their authority, history, context, and relevance and claim upon our lives today, and which seeks to live them out
  4. an identity and living that “makes flesh” the words “Magnified and sanctified may God’s great Name be throughout the world which He has created according to His will. May He establish His kingdom in our lifetime, and during our days, and within the life of the entire house of Israel, speedily and soon; and say, Amen.”

MSI is the educational branch of Beth Messiah Congregation in Columbus, OH (www.bethmessiah.org)
